Springtime is upon us. Time to throw open the doors and windows and let the cool fresh breeze of spring blow away the musty, closed-in feeling of winter.

Time to fill your house with the fragrance and colour of gorgeous spring flowers. Time to turn the TV off and head out for an evening stroll along the beach with someone you love. There is nothing nicer than the feel of the sand between your toes…a natural exfoliation for the feet.

Spring speaks to us about newness. So what new thing is happening in your life? Or let me ask you this: “ When was the last time you did something for the first time?” Maybe you are about to start a new connect group, join a gym for the first time (in preparation for the summer bikini), or you are about to become a new mum …how exciting! Here in the Kelsey household we are deep in preparations for our daughter Amee’s marriage to the wonderful Glen Allsop. She is our middle child and our first daughter to walk down the aisle. This will be a first time experience for my husband Mark. I can’t wait to see his face as they begin that lovely walk together.

God loves new. God gives us a new life through His son Jesus. He gives us a new name, and shows us a new way. He says “sing me a new song”. He is even creating a new heaven and a new earth.

The Bible says in Lamentations 3:22-24:

“The unfailing love of the LORD never ends! By his mercies we have been kept from complete destruction. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each day. I say to myself, ‘The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!’" NLT

How marvellous for all us to wake each morning to a fresh encounter with a good and gracious God. To live in constant renewal and to know that His divine favour is with us always. Now that will cause you to spring out of bed in the morning and shout, “How great is our God!”

From all us here at everywoman a huge thankyou for joining us this past year. Have a beautiful spring, a very blessed Christmas and we look forward to seeing you in the new year. 2007 here we come!!
